Romanian Survival Phrases. Season 2. Lesson 13: Romanian Hotel, Part 2: Can you give me this, please?

In this lesson, we’ll introduce you to some more useful phrases for hotels and the like.
BODY
The first phrase is “When do I pay the accommodation fee?” In Romanian, this is: Când achit cazarea?
Let’s break it down:
Când a-chit ca-za-rea?
Once more:
Când achit cazarea?
The first word, când, means “when” in English.
(slow) Când.
Când.
Then you have achit, which means “pay”.
(slow) A-chit.
Achit.
After that you have cazarea, which means “accommodation.”
(slow) Ca-za-rea.
Cazarea.
All together:
(slow)Când a-chit ca-za-rea?
Când achit cazarea?
“When do I pay the accommodation fee?”
Let’s try to ask, “Can you give me some soap?” In Romanian this is:
Puteţi să îmi daţi săpun?
Let’s break it down:
(slow)Pu-teţi să îmi daţi să-pun?
Once more:
Puteţi să îmi daţi săpun?
The first word, puteţi is a verb translated as “can you”.
(slow) Pu-teţi .
Puteţi.
Next we have să îmi daţi which is translated as “to give me”.
(slow) Să îmi daţi.
Să îmi daţi.
And at the end we have săpun which means “soap.”
(slow) Să-pun.
Săpun.
All together we have
(slow) Pu-teţi să îmi daţi să-pun?
Puteţi să îmi daţi săpun?
The literal translation in English is “Can you give me soap?”
Here are some additional things you may ask for when staying in a hotel.
Prosop which means “Towel” .
(slow) Pro-sop.
Prosop.
Periuţă de dinţi “toothbrush” .
(slow) Pe-ri-u-ţă de dinţi.
Periuţă de dinţi.
Pastă de dinţi “Toothpaste”.
(slow) Pas-tă de dinţi.

Şampon “Shampoo” .
(slow) Şam-pon.
Şampon.
In order to ask for something else, all you have to do is replace the word săpun with any other word from those we just learned. Don’t forget to add vă rog at the end of the phrase to make your request sound more polite.
