Maryssa: The most traditional sweet thing you will find in every Romanian house is cozonac — a sweet bread filled with a walnut and cocoa filling. This sweet bread is made on several occasions, including Christmas or New Year's Eve, but for the Easter table, this is a must. Nowadays, cozonac can be bought from most of the bakeries and the price is very cheap, but most grandmothers will prefer to prepare their own secret recipe, even though the process can take more than five hours sometimes. |
