Michael: Hi everyone, I'm Michael.
Larisa: And I'm Larisa!
Michael: And welcome to Culture Class: Essential Romanian Vocabulary, Season 1, Lesson 16! In this lesson, you'll learn five essential words related to people and homes. Michael: Romanians are passionate TV watchers and spend at least a couple of hours in front of it, especially when they have dinner. Most Romanians are interested in news channels or documentaries, but during the weekends a lot of people enjoy watching sports or entertainment channels. Even in isolated villages from the mountains, people have cable TV.
Michael: Now let's hear a sample sentence using this word.

Michael: Ovens in Romanian kitchens are typically smaller than those in the United States. Ovens are "a must" in every house because a huge majority of Romanians eat most of their food at home, cooking everything from scratch. Ovens are used widely in Romanian cooking to bake traditional dishes like sarmale, stuffed peppers, or walnut sweet bread.
